MADELINE LEONG

From the beginning: I was born and raised in a small town in New Jersey. I have always loved performing since I was little, and I have been participating in theatre since the age of 11. It was in high school that I first discovered technical theatre, stage management, and directing. Throughout college, I explored light design, assistant directing, and assistant stage management.

Recently, I completed the Summer Conservatory at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. I also graduated from Sacred Heart University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and a concentration in Acting. Alongside my major, I double minored in Political Science and Psychology. Additionally, I have a strong interest in philosophy, art, and literature. Outside of theatre and school, I am an avid film lover, as well as reading, cooking, baking, and painting.

 

In the past 4 years at SHU, I have gathered many valuable experiences in a theatrical setting. Aside from my passion for acting, I have found a certain interest in lighting design, directing, and theatre photography. One could easily tell that I have found various nooks and crannies in theatre in order to constantly be working on the next project, no matter what area it is in.

I always knew I would end up pursuing theatre in some capacity. As I continue to explore my abilities, I am happy to work on as many productions as I can in any creative aspect. My main goal is to maintain my artistry, and learn from the endless amount of people I get to work with to expand on my own strengths as an actor.
